Primary Information

We are looking forward to having your child in Grade Primary this September! Due to  COVID-19 there will be no primary screening this year. As always, we will focus on supporting all our students and making their transition to grade primary very positive.  Part of the primary screening process is having your child’s vision and hearing checked. Public Health and NS Hearing and Speech are the partners who look after those components of primary screening. If you have any questions regarding your child’s vision and/or hearing please contact Public Health at 902-543-0850 and NS  Hearing and Speech at 902541-3134.

To help limit the need for families to go out and shop for school supplies for their child(ren), we will be purchasing school supplies for all students at NES. We also hope to be able to limit the cost for families. The school supply fee will be shared with families in September.

We will send more information about September school start up as we receive information.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact Jennifer  Lemire at nesprincipal@ssrce.

We are currently looking for a spare noon supervisor.  Noon supervisors work from 11:50 am- 12:50pm.   If you are interested please contact the school.

YMCA After School Program

There are new flexible options for families to choose from!

Personal Devices

Students who bring personal electronic devices (i.e. cellphones and iPads) to school must drop them off in the office in the morning.  Students may pick them up at the end of the day at dismissal.  Devices are left at students own risk.  NES has electronic devices accessible to students, as a learning tool, throughout the day.  If you need to contact your child please call the office and we will be happy to help.
